If your cruise ship changes its Halong schedule, confirm exactly what changed and obtain a revised excursion confirmation. A new date, shorter stay, different landing and cancelled call require different responses; moving pickup alone may not solve the problem.
Save the cruise line’s current notice and send it with your booking details to Halong Shore Excursion. If already ashore and the passenger deadline becomes earlier, tell the guide immediately and arrange the direct return.
Verify the notice and the clock
Check the ship, sailing date, port and source. A public itinerary, forwarded screenshot or passenger-group message may be outdated or concern another voyage. Before travel, use the line’s booking communications; onboard, use its designated channel, such as the app, daily programme, cabin message or saved official contact. Ask ship staff to resolve conflicting instructions.

Label every revised time with the date and whether it means ship time or Vietnam local time. Add a conversion only after ship staff confirm the difference. Have Halong Shore Excursion repeat the interpreted deadline in writing. If the clock or notice remains unresolved while ashore, begin the safer return while a passenger contacts the ship.
If you are already ashore, act on the specific change
- Earlier all aboard: tell the guide, stop optional visits and begin the safest practical return. Do not finish a meal, shopping stop or attraction merely because it was paid for.
- Later departure: keep the existing passenger deadline until the ship explicitly changes it. An extension also requires the operator to confirm the route, driver, guide and timed services can change.
- Different berth or tender point: give the driver the exact revised return location. “Go back to the port” is insufficient when the access point has moved.
Recalculate from where the group and vehicle are now. The morning drive does not establish the return duration: the party may be farther from the main road, traffic may differ, and essential toilet, mobility or fuel stops may remain.
Ask the driver for the practical direct route without speeding or unsafe shortcuts. Work backward from the new deadline through security, internal transport or tender queues and the final boarding stage, with a margin for uncertainty. Remove optional stops in whole blocks instead of rushing every stage. Safe driving, walking speed, assistance and security cannot be compressed. If the principal attraction no longer fits, choose a feasible nearer alternative or return directly.
Rebuild the booking around what changed

Confirm availability and money separately
Halong Shore Excursion private pickup and return times are flexible by agreement around the ship’s call. This does not make every date, activity or cancellation change free. Availability, operating hours and the actual booking terms still apply.
For cruise-line excursions, contact the ship’s excursion team. For independent bookings, contact the seller named in the confirmation. A ship announcement does not itself amend or refund an outside reservation.
Check separately booked meals, tickets and transfers with each provider. Ask whether the outcome is a move, replacement, cancellation, refund, credit or charge, and obtain any revised price and conditions in writing. Avoid paying for a duplicate booking while the first remains unresolved.
Get the revised plan to every passenger
Send the operator the booking reference, ship, original and revised dates, full landing details, official notice and labelled times. State whether clearance has actually been announced. Request one complete reply covering the meeting point, pickup window, activity, planned port return, price and booking status.
Share the new deadline, time standard and meeting location with every subgroup, and obtain acknowledgement. One person receiving an app alert does not mean everyone knows. Before vehicles divide, check who carries each passenger’s ship card, identity document, phone, medicine and bag.
If someone cannot be reached, notify the guide and ship through the designated channel. Do not hold the whole party at a distant attraction without assessing the return risk; staff can coordinate information but cannot guarantee the person sees a message.
Save the new instruction offline, give a companion a copy and write the deadline on paper. Mark the old confirmation superseded while retaining it as evidence.
